Presentation- Ecologically Sound Practices Partnership Panel on Prescribed Fire in Marin (Meeting Agenda attached)

"Prescribed fire offers many ecological and wildfire risk reduction benefits", stated Dr. Daniel Swain (12.09.25). Others have observed that It can create diverse habitats for various plants and animals by removing dense vegetation and promoting new growth. Prescribed burning is beneficial for ecological restoration, habitat improvement, invasive species control, limiting wildfire damage and cost efficiency. But there are barriers to implementation. issues of safety, permitting, cost and smoke. The Panel will address these and other issues and answer questions including this one: how much progress have we made since our ESP discussion in 2021? The Panel organized itself in a way that is grounded in experience and on-going collaboration.
